Nestled in the heart of the Monteferrato protected nature reserve, Fattoria Javello sits high in the peaceful hills of Tuscany, 550 meters above sea level.  Spanning over 350 hectares of lush woodlands and olive groves, our estate offers a serene retreat where rich history, authentic Tuscan farming, and warm hospitality come together.

The origins of the estate date back over a thousand years to the 11th century, when a Lombard family named Chiavelli built a fortress on the land, giving rise to the name "Javello."

Through the centuries, the estate evolved from a medieval stronghold into a magnificent 16th-century country estate. By the 19th century, the property came into the hands of the historic Borghese family of Rome through the marriage of Maria Covoni Girolami to Giuseppe Borghese (a descendant of Pope Paul V).

Today, the estate remains proudly in the Borghese family. For over 30 years, Vincenzo and Dilia have called Fattoria Javello home, living on-site with their family. For more than two decades, we have opened our doors to guests from all over the world, passionate about preserving the land and sharing the rich heritage of this magical property.

Guest accommodation is set within “La Casaccia,” our restored 16th-century farmhouse. Carefully renovated to blend historic character with modern comfort, the farmhouse is divided into five individual, fully equipped holiday apartments:

• Alle Casce: A spacious ground-floor apartment featuring 3 double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms (including full step-free accessibility features for wheelchair users), a cozy living room with fireplace, and direct garden access.
• Le Lucetole: Spread across two floors, featuring 3 double bedrooms, a spacious living area with a fireplace, and a dining room with an original wood-burning oven.
• Il Fienile: A charming multi-level apartment built into the historic barn, offering high ceilings, a grand fireplace, and space for up to 7 guests.
• La Fornace: Set inside the estate's historic brick kiln, offering sweeping elevated views of the valley, pool, and surrounding hillside.
• La Fornace Piccola: A cozy and intimate retreat ideal for couples or small families, featuring a fireplace stove and comfortable living space.
